The SOG Specialty Knives & Tools GFX01-L Gunny is a limited edition fixed blade knife designed by R. Lee Ermey aka “The Gunny” and meticulously crafted in true SOG style. Made of VG-10 steel with an attractive satin finish, this premium Japanese steel is specially designed for high-quality blades used in cutlery and known for its durability and maintaining a hardness of Rc 60 without becoming brittle. The 7-inch straight edge, fixed blade has a clip point shape that allows a quicker and deeper puncture upon insertion, sharpens easily and makes quick work of any task. The ergonomically contoured and well-balanced handle has a lanyard hole, brown and silver finish and is made of Cocobolo hardwood with a stingray skin inlay and nickel-plated replica of the commemorative Gunny coin. A handcrafted brown leather sheath is included with a snap closure and belt loop attachment to always keep the Gunny safely protected and close to you at all times. This limited edition knife has an overall length of 12.2-inches, blade thickness of 0.02-inches, weight of 14.10-ounces. These limited edition, heirloom-quality knives are the first co-designed by R. Lee Ermey, aka “The Gunny,” and SOG Specialty Knives & Tools. Each knife is meticulously crafted using exotic Cocobolo hardwood handles which has an orange / reddish-brown color. The handle also features a stingray hide inlay, along with nickel-plated replicas of the commemorative Gunny coin. The Gunny Folding Knife offers a full, 4-Inch, VG-10 stainless steel blade, which is one of the best stainless steel made. Additional elements, such as vanadium, are added to provide superior edge sharpness and retention, as well as enhanced rust resistance. VG-10 requires sharpening less frequently making it ideal for more demanding uses. The straight edge blade will cut cleanly and can be (if needed) repeatedly sharpened quickly. Paired in true SOG style with the durable VG-10 stainless steel blade with an attractive satin polish finish, each knife includes a handcrafted leather sheath which is a classic choice in fixed blade carrying options.
